PAUL PLUNKETT (trumpet)

PAUL PLUNKETT and ensemble play authentic period instruments in a fine baroque recital. The trumpet was an important instrument in this period symbolising status, purity, and joy. The natural trumpet is about twice as long as a modern instrument and was able to explore the highest (clarino) register of its natural harmonics. Some of the works on this fine disc are recorded here for the first time.
