THE GALLERY AT BRANDON MUSIC, FORMER HOME TO THE WORK OF WARREN KIMBLE, WILL OPEN ON JULY 1
Brandon, VT – The Gallery at Brandon Music, former home to the work of Warren Kimble, will open on July 1 with an exhibition of paintings, collages and drawings by celebrated artist Linda Durkee of Danby, Vt. Over 20 items are on show in The Gallery, a quaint and rustic restored corncrib, and a further set of larger works in Brandon Music’s main building, also home to their tearooms and music store. An informal reception with the artist will be held from 3 – 6 pm on Sunday 26 July.
Linda Durkee has been writing and painting full-time since 2001. Her painting career spans 29 years and she has been exhibited throughout Vermont, in Washington DC and in other locations, and is found in private collections in the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia and Australia. Her work is inspired by the landscapes of the Vermont mountains and lakes (a “repertoire of beautiful shapes and colors”, as the artist describes them) which are expressed in vibrant and dynamically shaped works. Linda intends her portrayal of the natural landscapes with which Vermont is blessed leads to an introspection and sense of inner realism in which she invites the viewer to participate.
The works on display which are all for sale will also be previewed on the Brandon Music website.
Brandon Music, which also houses the US store and office of the Divine Art classical record label, an English tearoom and sells fine teas, tableware and vintage collectable china from the UK, is situated opposite Neshobe Golf Club on Rte 73 East of Brandon and is open 10 – 6 each day except Tuesday.
