THE GALLERY AT BRANDON MUSIC presents

A WALK THROUGH THE WOODS and other Favored Places - part 2

AN EXHIBITION BY RUTH HAMILTON

The Gallery is honored to host work by the immensely talented Vermont artist Ruth Hamilton whose previous exhibition "THE HEART OF LAND" October 1 until November 3, 2009 at the Gallery (with five pieces on show in the tearoom) and was extremely well received and successful. Her new show has been a delight and during the recommissioning of the Gallery, while much of her work has been removed for exhibition elsewehere, seven amazing new works now grace the walls of the Music Cafe.

These pieces are in oil, on canvas and are unframed (and being mounted on substantial subframes look great that way).. The following works, apart from those marked 'sold' - of course! - may be ordered from us by phone, collect where possible, If shipping is required, cost of packaging and shipping will be calculated for each order.

The artist ocasionally travels to England and is inspired to translate the heart of that land as she experienced it.  The works in this show include several scenes from Northern England and Cornwall in the deep South West, as well as Vermont scenes and figurative work.  Ruth's  paintings explore the relationship of the person to the deeper connections of land, earth and with people, friends, and occasionally animals.  Her work exemplifies wonderment of nature and an intimate view of life.  Beautiful and unusual use of color is a major strength of her work. At the bottom of this page, are some paintings not actually on show but which are for sale (contact us to view the original).

Ruth has lived in Vermont, Upstate NY and NYC.  Her work is in private collections throughout the US, Europe and in the collection of the St Louis Art Museum.  She maintains her home and studio in Poultney VT.

RUTH HAMILTON
Ruth's lovely paintings often feature the stunning landscapes of Northern England, especially the Cumbrian Lake District, inspiration for William Wordsworth and so many others, and Northumberland and the north of Yorkshire; both of which were home for many years to the owner of Brandon Music. Her Vermont scenes are no less evocative. Her Vermont landscapes and other works are equally charming and honestly expressive - Stephen Sutton, Brandon Music.
